More Than Just a Canoe

The Concrete Canoe Competition, hosted by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), is one of the most challenging and respected student competitions in the field. It brings together civil engineering students from across the country to design, build, and race canoes made entirely of concrete—testing their skills in structural design, materials science, hydrodynamics, and teamwork.

The USF ASCE team is already deep into preparation for the 2025–2026 season, from concept and design to materials testing and practice runs. Their dedication, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail embody everything we value at Burgess Civil.
