Do You Have A Construction Project We Can Help With?

Curlew Landmark to SR 584 Project: Pipe Installation Progress

The Curlew Landmark to SR 584 project continues making steady progress as Burgess Civil crews advance underground infrastructure installation and roadway restoration activities.

Working along an active utility corridor, our teams are coordinating multiple construction operations, including the installation of large-diameter reinforced concrete pipe (RCP), excavation at significant depths, and restoration of roadway areas impacted by construction.

With several crews and subcontractors working across the project, careful planning, communication, and coordination remain essential to maintaining progress along the project’s critical path.

Installing 42-Inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe

A major focus of the current construction phase is the installation of approximately 193 linear feet (LF) of 42-inch reinforced concrete pipe.

Our pipe crew is performing this work at excavation depths approaching 10 feet, navigating several existing underground utilities that cross the proposed pipe alignment.

Installing large-diameter drainage infrastructure in areas with existing utilities requires careful coordination to manage potential conflicts and maintain safe working conditions.

As installation progresses, our team continues addressing these challenges while advancing the underground infrastructure improvements associated with the Curlew Landmark to SR 584 project.

Roadway Restoration Progresses Behind Pipe Installation

While underground pipe installation continues, our roadway crew is following behind to restore areas disturbed during construction.

Coordinating roadway restoration with underground utility activities helps maintain an organized construction sequence and allows completed sections to progress toward their finished condition.

This approach is particularly important for projects involving multiple work areas, where the timing of excavation, pipe installation, and roadway restoration must be carefully managed.

Additional Drainage Improvements Near Landmark Drive

On the western end of the project, Burgess Civil’s FDOT Superintendent, Mike, is overseeing subcontractor Blackhorse as crews begin installing additional 42-inch reinforced concrete pipe between Landmark Drive and McMullen Booth Road.

These operations involve excavation depths similar to those encountered by our primary pipe crew.

With construction progressing in multiple locations, communication between field supervisors, subcontractors, and roadway crews remains a priority.

Coordinating Multiple Crews Along the Critical Path

The Curlew Landmark to SR 584 project demonstrates the importance of effective coordination during complex underground infrastructure construction.

With pipe installation, roadway restoration, and subcontractor activities occurring simultaneously, our teams must carefully sequence operations to maintain productivity and support the overall construction schedule.

At Burgess Civil, our approach emphasizes safety, quality, communication, and efficient execution throughout every phase of construction.

We appreciate the continued dedication of our field crews, project leadership, and subcontractor partners as they work together to advance these important infrastructure improvements.

Great work by everyone involved in keeping the project moving forward!
